Among certain segments of the population, there's no quicker way to peg yourself as an out-of-it, environmentally backwards doofus than to say, "Here's my business card." The business card is a relic, the thinking goes. Sure, maybe you'd use one if you never heard of LinkedIn, Twitter or e-mail. But if you have? Then forget it.
